Mezzo Side Table

The Mezzo side table takes its name from the Italian “mezzo,” referring to a female singer whose voice hangs between soprano and contralto. Its fluid shape suggests the fluidity of music, of finely sculpted musical instruments, and the balance of the mezzo voice.

Sholto wanted the piece to appear delicate yet robust enough to support an unopened bottle of wine on the edge of the hand-spun brass top, finished with a full-grain leather mat. The slender neck sits upon a base, weighted with a steel disk to provide stability to the tray-like top.

  • Solid American Black Walnut or White Oak
  • Handspun brass top finished with Full grain leather matte in black, white and custom colours.
  • Base reinforced with steel.

The Mezzo side table is featured in the Globe and Mail article, “Six small designers making a big buzz on the Canadian design scene”.
