ABOUT SHOLTO DESIGN STUDIO

Sholto Design Studio thoughtfully designs and builds longlasting, custom furniture for architects, designers and individuals. Our focus is the customer and improving their environment.

The vision is to create furniture that improves the everyday for people now and for generations to come. Sholto Design Studio designs and builds contemporary furniture using both modern technologies and traditional craftsmanship.

Interested in how people use furniture and what details enhance their experience of everyday living, Sholto works closely with designers and architects to create furniture tailor fit. “My work must be useful, elegant, carefully made and considered. I take great care to learn what my clients value, to make furniture that will remain useful and valued for this generation—and the next.” Sholto helps guide clients away from passing trends or short-term considerations, towards function and design they can enjoy for the long run.

AWARDS & RECOGNITION

“He’s exactly the type of person we want to work with. You can be sure that everything about his product is quite natural, in the wood he selects and the finishes he uses. There’s no harmful chemicals, there’s not going to be any off-gassing or anything like that. He’s just a really great guy to work with.”

Adam Bellas, SwitzerCultCreative

Jackson Cunningham, Tuft and Paw

“Scruton’s pieces have a resolve that is in perfect harmony with the past and the present. They function quietly and, on close inspection, one sees the attention to detail and understanding of structure that is what makes these pieces beautiful.”
